Update: I posted in Google Groups under Youtube support HERE, if you could please vouch for me there, maybe someone will listen and look into this from the Google side? I can not find any other means of contact with them aside from the appeal form and this group.

Letting you guys know all videos are currently unavailable because I received this wonderful message from Youtube this morning:

We’d like to inform you that due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines (https://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines) your YouTube account ColoringAddict has been suspended.

After review we determined that activity in your account violated our Community Guidelines, which prohibit spam, scams or commercially deceptive content (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2801973?hl=en).

Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts. For more information about account terminations and how our Community Guidelines are enforced, please visit our Help Center at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2802168?hl=en.

I don’t know what this is about, I seriously doubt I’ve committed any crimes by doing coloring videos but Youtube seems to think it’s an offence. I appealed this but if it doesn’t work and my channel remains closed, I will need a plan B. I do not know what it is they think I did since the reasoning is very vague, I hope they’ll at least give me a more specific answer.

Trouble is that all my videos were only up at Youtube, I don’t have any of them on my local disk (space issues). So… well before lunging into a deep dark panic, we’ll wait and see what they say.

I do admit it’s a shock to find something like this in your inbox. I seriously don’t understand what it is they think I did wrong to such a degree that I’m closed down and prohibited from any Youtube accounts ever. Overkill much? Disappointed is the least of what I’m feeling.

I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this appeal.

Update: I have researched Vimeo rules and seems that to post flip through videos and tutorials there, I’d have to sign up for at least a Pro account to adhere to their rules, which is 17€/month if paid for a full year. That is too much for me. Without book reviews and tutorials, this blog is pretty much nothing. So if this nightmare is actually real and Youtube rejects my appeal, I will have to pack up my blog and call it quits. I can not express to you how sad this makes me.

Until they decide, which can take a month, please do comment on the link above, maybe if there’s enough noise, someone from Google will actually look at the thread to see what’s going on.

  1. I am so sorry to know about the problem with YouTube. The only thing I can think they might consider are the links to the products you present, but all the artists I see in YouTube do the same thing. If there is something we can do, please let us know 🙂 . Patricia

    1. I haven’t even done that. I’ve linked to my social media accounts and to the blog page where I talk more about whatever it is in the video. I’ve never directly linked to books or pencils or anything and even if, then it’s not forbidden to my knowledge anyway.
I really can’t imagine what this is about other than just random automated error, in which case I hope they’ll fix it.

    1. Thank you! I am doing everything I can. Plan B is to move over to Vimeo so you’ll still get videos but with the downside that it’s not on Youtube anymore and can’t just subscribe to the channel and get the updates there. I’m currently looking into all options I can to keep this blog going.

    1. Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure it out all day but seems there’s nothing I can do beyond the appeal and the forum post linked above. I am so upset that this happened to me, I didn’t do anything and now I’m losing my blog over this which I’ve worked so hard on 😦
