Fresh from the post office, a gift for my daughter which she kindly allowed me to show you first, Halloween Coloring Book by Jasmine Becket-Griffith.
This is a book all about girls, there are loads of Halloween-y creepy images to color. What I like about this book particularly is that she includes the story of the images within, I find that really cool and interesting to read. Other artists should do this as well, I’d like to know about the process and thoughts behind the images.
The paper of this book is nice, it’s not the thickest in the world, water probably isn’t a good idea. But it should take pencils beautifully, nice and smooth paper and since it’s single-sided, you can also freely use markers without fear. Though if you use alcohol markers, do put several sheets of paper under your work to protect the next page.
Jasmine Becket-Griffith has a very distinct style and you will recognize her girls a mile away. She also has a website which you can check out HERE to see more of her artwork.
Overall, it’s a great book and I’m sure this will be loved by my daughter who already loves the first book to death, which I’ll also show you someday soon.
