Until then, I’ll show you the earlier books though you’ve seen them a zillion times but they’re always cool to look at. Today, Enchanted Forest by Johanna Basford.

As you can see, mine is nicely used and everything, the map page got to me though,  I hated the result and so it stayed unfinished, something that rarely ever happens, I always try to finish pictures, no matter what. Nice bonus, my daughter colored in some pictures as well. She’s improved TONS since then, one day I’ll show you her current colorings too, she’s a huge fan of Jasmine Beckett-Griffith.
This is currently my favorite Johanna Basford book, loads of gorgeous imagery and the paper is great, it’s a nice thick smooth paper that loves pencils and pencils love it back. The paper is a creamy white, not stark white. I also like that this book doesn’t have as much text as Secret Garden, I don’t really like it when books tell me what to do. I tend to not color the pictures that tell me to draw something, I don’t want the text on the final picture. I also like the treasure hunt, that you have cards to collect and a story to it. I find it fun when coloring books have some sort of a story that doesn’t impose too much but is there for the fun factor. That’s what I also love about Eriy’s books, that it’s not just random images of villages and such.

So closer look at what I’ve done in here:

Overall, as said, my favorite from Johanna’s books at the moment, I haven’t seen Magical Jungle yet, I try to avoid all the flip through videos, I only know what I’ve seen on Facebook and Instagram as finished pieces from those who got their books early. It looks very promising. But right now, if you have none of Johanna’s books and want one, this is the one I’d suggest picking up for sure.

Tomorrow Lost Ocean and then hopefully I’ll FINALLY be done with my owls page, which has taken well over a week now and loads of pencils and the end result is probably not even worth it (yes, I’m in the despair phase with that one 😀 ).
